The manga behind this thrilling film is known as Gunnm, with Gally as the heroine, not Alita. While you may have heard of it if you're a fan of Japanese comics, it's also possible that you've never read it, as it retired quite some time ago. Published in the 90s, this manga immediately captured the attention of its audience, but was only published for 4-5 years before bowing out.
